Hub Information

What is the purpose of the Hub?

The core purpose of the Early Years Hubs for Excellence is to enable the diverse early education provision in East Sussex to thrive.

EYFS Hubs provide regular opportunities for schools, pre-schools, childminders, Children’s Centres, other key partners and the Local Authority to work in partnership across their local area to ensure that:

All children are able to attend an early education provision that is rated at least Good by Ofsted

All children achieve the best possible outcomes from their early education

All children experience consistent and, wherever possible, seamless Foundation Stage learning.

The Crowborough Hub

The Crowborough Early Years Hub for the schools in Crowborough and the surrounding villages, is co-ordinated by Becky McAteer.  Becky is the EYFS Lead at Ashdown Primary

School and is a member of her school’s SMT. She has also been a Moderation Group lead and East Sussex Early Years Lead Practioner.

The aim for the Crowborough Hub is to provide training, networking and opportunities for schools, pre-school and childminders to work together to improve outcomes for all the children in our settings. As a Hub we will meet across the academic year to take part in different activities including training and moderation. The content of our meetings and training will be decided by the group as a whole to ensure we are meeting the needs of the children and staff in our settings. The Hub will lead training meetings in terms 1, 3 and 5 at various venues. The moderation meetings, alongside the Crowborough and Wadhurst Moderation Group, will take place in Term 2, 4 and 6. There may be additional training opportunities alongside the regular meetings.

All EYFS practitioners are very welcome to attend and contribute. For more information, please contact us at rmcateer@ashdown.e-sussex.sch.uk
